How To Brew Festbier | The Most Popular German Beer Festival Beer

The most popular German beer festival beer might not be what you think. When you think of Oktoberfest – at least here in the US – you think of beer with an amber color. But the most popular festival beer in Germany is, fittingly the lighter and easier to drink Festbier. In this video we show how to homebrew this beer.

Recipe:
9 lbs 8.0 oz Pilsner; German
1 lbs 8.0 oz Munich Type I
8.0 oz Victory Malt
1.50 oz Hallertauer Pellets – Boil 60.0 min
1.50 oz Hallertauer Pellets – Boil 5.0 min
1.0 pkg Munich Lager (Wyeast Labs #2308)

Mash at 152F for 60 mins
Boil for 60 mins
